Hey team, at long last another part is up. This time I cover saving all of the relevant details from a map. Another fairly long post, but definitely worth it. Check it out at

Neat, I’m glad to see I found this tutorial series just as you were jumping back in again 🙂 looks great!

  2. Keep up the good work! this tutorial has really helped me and I’m using it to build upon and start work on a new RTS project, the structure and flow of the tutorial really helps me learn good practices!

Hope too see more coming soon, This has helped me out more than any other RTS tutorial. I hope to see you posting soon! Thanks friend!

  4. So I have to thank you for all the hard work you have done. I found this tutorial almost a year ago when looking for some ideas of how to layout a RTS for a class project I was working on. With the knowledge I gained here I had quite the project too turn in and as it turned out my professor was also using this tutorial to help lay out the basics for us in class. Now I still continue to follow this and use what I gain from it to continue to develop that same project hopefully into something marketable, or at least something to put into a portfolio, but I have some ideas for it. Again I can’t thank you enough.

    • I’m glad that you found it helpful. Slightly amusing too that your professor had also been looking at it to help with class. All the best on making something awesome with what you have learnt.

Elgarstorm, Any news on when your next tutorial will be posted?
this is the only tutorial out on the web that is 100% helpful, and you can understand.
    thanks for your hard work!

    • Probably not for another month sorry – so early July. I was hoping to do another part last week but was too tired and really needed a proper day off. Life is just too full at the moment unfortunately.

Thank you for the awesome tutorial! I have a problem that I hope you can help me with… This problem is not for this part, but it is more of an overal problem I have had, right now I am on part 9. The texture2d vectors are not showing up in the inspector view in Unity. Neather resources or cursors, I am using the code “public Texture2D[] resources;” for the resources. the single ones like “public Texture2D activeCursor;” show up fine. I also tried downloading everything from github and then it runs fine but the selection for the textures still don’t show up, I guess it is saved from when you added them. Is it something I need to change in the Inspector view or something like that? I think that the code is correct because the error messages I get says that the texture isn’t found.

Hope you are able to help:)
